Patriots Sign LB Jonathan Freeny To A One-Year Extension

Field Yates of ESPN reported earlier this morning that the Patriots have locked up LB Jonathan Freeny to a one-year extension that will keep him under team control through the 2016 season.

According to Yates, Freeny received a $500,000 signing bonus along with a$1 million base salary. He’ll make $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

Freeny, 26, was in the final year of his two-year contract that includes a base salary of $850,000 for the 2015 season.

Freeny has recorded two tackles for the Patriots over the course of two games this season.
