Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots have signed former Saints RB Travaris Cadet to a contract.
New England has reportedly been looking at running backs who could play a similar role to the one Shane Vereen had in recent years, and it appears as though they finally found someone.
Cadet, 26, signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012.
Cadet was set to be a restricted free agent before the Saints ultimately declined to tender him a contract a few weeks ago.
In 2014, he appeared in 15 games for the Saints and ran for 32 yards on 10 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 38 receptions for 296 yards receiving and one touchdown.
