The New England Patriots have signed third-round DE/OLB Derek Rivers to a four-year rookie contract, according to his agency.

Rivers, 23, was selected by the Patriots with the No. 83 overall pick after they elected to down from No. 72 with the Titans. In total, the Patriots acquired a third- and fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and also gave up a sixth-round pick.
According to OverTheCap.com, Rivers will receive a four-year contract worth $3,202,896, which includes a signing bonus of $802,896.
During his four-year college career at Youngstown State, Rivers recorded 173 total tackles, 37.5 sacks, 56.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one pass defense.
