Patriots Signing DL Lawrence Guy To Four-Year Deal Worth Up To $20M

Ian Rapoport reports that the Patriots are signing DL Lawrence Guy to a four-year contract worth up to $20 million.

Guy took his first visit to New England and while some reports said that he has interest from other teams including the Ravens, it looks like the Patriots managed to close the deal and prevent him from meeting with other teams.

Guy, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2011. He lasted just over a year in Green Bay before he was waived at the start of the 2012 season. Guy was signed off of the Packers’ practice squad by the Colts and he spent a year with Indianapolis before he was claimed off of waivers during the 2013 season by the Chargers.

The Ravens eventually claimed him from San Diego and signed him to a two-year contract in 2015.

In 2016, Guy appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 29 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and a recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
