Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Had “Multiple Torn Ligaments”

The Boston Globe reports that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski was actually dealing with “multiple torn ligaments” during the Super Bowl.

Gronkowski has since had surgery to repair his ankle and is expected to have recovered from the injury in around 10 weeks.

There’s been a lot made about Gromkowski and teammate Matt Light‘s decision to attend a post-Super Bowl party following the team’s loss to the Giants but team president Johnathan Kraft should some support for him.

One thing I do know is the guy absolutely is 100 percent a passionate competitor when it comes to football,’’ Kraft told ESPN Boston Radio. “He loves football. He wants to win. He wants to get better. He doesn’t like losing.”
