Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski “Highly Unlikely” To Play In Week 7, Did Not Travel With Team

Adam Schefter reports that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is “highly unlikely” to play in Week 7’s game against the Bears and he did not travel with the team to Chicago.

According to Schefter, the Patriots refuse to rule out Gronkowski at this time and his status will depend on how he feels Sunday. Even so, Schefter adds that the signs are not good for Sunday.

Gronkowski showed up on the injury report this week with an ankle injury and appears to be a serious enough issue to hold him out of Sunday’s game.

Gronkowski, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2010. He is in the sixth year of his eight-year, $55.23 million contract that included $13.17 million guaranteed.

In 2018, Gronkowski has appeared in six games for the Patriots and recorded 26 receptions for 405 yards receiving (15.6 YPC) and scored one touchdown.
