Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Will Not Play On Sunday

Pro Football Talk confirms that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is out for New England’s game against the 49’ers this Sunday.

According to a league source, Gronkowski, despite being listed as questionable, will not play due to the fact that the Patriots will not risk him re-injuring his forearm after having broken it back in Nov 18.  The feeling is that the team will wait until week 17 to bring him back to rhythm as a “Playoff tuneup.”

Expect TE Aaron Hernandez and  WR Wes Welker to see most of the action in the passing game against San Francisco.
