Patriots TEs Coach Brian Daboll Expected To Interview For Alabama OC Job

Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports is reporting that Patriots assistant Brian Daboll is expected to interview for Alabama’s offensive coordinator vacancy.

Ben Volin mentions that this is interesting to hear, considering that Daboll is viewed as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator-in-waiting should Josh McDaniels depart for another head-coaching job.

Daboll, 41, actually worked under Nick Saban while they were together at Michigan State back in 1998. He was later hired by the Patriots as their defensive coaching assistant before eventually taking over as the team’s wide receivers coach.

Since then, Daboll has worked for a number of NFL teams including the Jets, Browns, Dolphins and Chiefs before returning to the Patriots in 2013 as their coaching assistant. He has been working as the team’s tight ends coach the past few years.

It’s worth mentioning that Daboll has four years of NFL experience as an offensive coordinator.

We’ll have more regarding Daboll possibly departing for a job with Alabama.
