Patriots Tried Out Former 49ers RB Kendall Hunter

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots tried out former 49ers RB Kendall Hunter in recent days.

This is the third team to show interest in Hunter over the last two weeks. He previously worked out for the Jaguars and Seahawks, but didn’t receive an offer from either team.

Hunter, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2011. He wound up signing a one-year, $870,000 contract extension with the 49ers in November of last year, but was released from injured reserve with a settlement a few weeks into the season.

Unfortunately, Hunter missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL.

In 2013, Hunter appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and ran for 358 yards on 78 carries (4.6 YPC) and three touchdowns.
