Patriots recently waived RB Tyler Gaffney and LB Kevin Snyder cleared waivers and reverted to the team’s injured reserve, per Ben Volin.
Gaffney, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014. The Patriots wound up claiming him off of waivers from the Panthers in 2014 after Carolina cut him loose with the intention of getting him through waivers.
New England ultimately waived him at the start of the 2015 season with an injury designation, reverting to the IR list after clearing waivers.
At Stanford, Gaffney ran for 2,500 yards on 486 carries (5.1 YPC) and scored a total of 37 touchdowns over the course of four years.
Snyder, 24, signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent, out of Rutgers, in 2015 before being waived, signed, and then waived again by the 49ers.
Snyder eventually signed with the Patriots’ practice squad at the end of last season.
