Patriots Waive RB Trey Williams

The New England Patriots officially waived RB Trey Williams on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Williams, 22, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M a few days after this year’s NFL draft. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to their practice squad.

The Cowboys signed Williams off of the Redskins practice squad a few weeks ago before being waived and later claimed by the Patriots.

Wiliams has yet to appear in an NFL game.
