Patriots Waive Rookie CB V’Angelo Bentley

The New Patriots have informed rookie CB V’Angelo Bentley that he’s being placed on waivers Monday, according to Mike Reiss.

Bentley, 22, wound up going undrafted out of Illinois back in May before signing on with the Patriots. Bentley signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

During his four-year college career, Bentley recorded 132 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, two recoveries, two interceptions and 11 pass defenses.
