Patriots Waive TE Matt Lengel From IR With Settlement

The New England Patriots officially waived TE Matt Lengel from injured reserve with a settlement on Saturday.

Kidder, 23, signed a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Montana this past May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement when the Vikings cut him loose back in July.

The Patriots signed him to a contract a few days later but elected to waive him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to the injured reserve list.

During his college career at Montana, Kidder recorded 165 tackles, 22.5 tackles for a loss, 10.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, two blocks and 13 pass defenses over the course of 31 games.
