Doug Kyed of NESN reports that the Patriots brought in LB Reshard Cliett for a workout on Thursday.
Cliett, 24, was taken with the No. 211 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,370,484 contract when the Texans elected to waive him last week as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
The Broncos added him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before cutting him loose a few days ago.
Last year, Cliett, unfortunately, missed the entire 2015 season after he sustained a torn ACL in August.
During his college career at South Florida, Cliett recorded 134 tackles, seven sacks, two fumble recoveries and seven pass defenses over the course of four seasons.
