Patriots Working Out WR Jeremy Kerley

According to Ian Rapoport, the Patriots are working out free agent WR Jeremy Kerley on Wednesday, as they continue to look for help at receiver.

Kerley, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jets back in 2011. He spent five years in New York before he was released back in March of last year and later signed to a one-year contract worth over $1 million by the Lions.

Detroit elected to trade Kerley to the 49ers in exchange for OL Brandon Thomas coming out of the preseason in 2016.

The 49ers signed Kerley to a three-year, $10.5 million deal that included a $1.7 million signing bonus last year only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Kerley spent a year with the Jets before signing a one-year deal with the Bills back in April.

Unfortunately, Buffalo released him a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Kerley appeared in eight games and caught 22 passes for 217 yards receiving and one touchdown.
