Patriots & WR Danny Amendola Agree To Two-Year, $7.35M Restructured Deal

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Patriots and WR Danny Amendola agreed to a restructured contract that will allow him to remain with the team.

  • According to Garafolo, Amendola receives a two-year deal worth $7.35 million with $750,000 more in roster bonuses and catch incentives.

Amendola released a statement regarding his new deal with the Patriots, per Garafolo:

It’s an honor to play for this franchise and with this group of guys. We have one goal- to win another Championship and that’s all we care about.

There was talk that Amendola’s time a few months ago with the Patriots could be coming to an end. However, it looks like both sides were open and willing to make it work in the end.

Amendola, 30, was in the second year of his three-year $12.75 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2016 season. He was scheduled to make another $6 million salary in 2017.

In 2015, Amendola appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and recorded 65 receptions for 648 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He also contributed 172 kick return yards and another 276 punt return yards for the team. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.
