Percy Harvin Plans To Retire For Good This Time

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN spoke with a representative for free agent WR Percy Harvin, who told him that Harvin is not participating in free agency and instead plans to retire, for real this time.

He’s done (playing),” Fowler’s source said of Harvin.

Harvin informed the Bills back in April that he was retiring from the NFL, due to knee and hip injuries before Buffalo later convinced him to return after they sustained some injuries at receiver. Harvin gave it a shot, but unfortunately experienced more “severe” migraines, which had been something he’s dealt with throughout his NFL career.

Buffalo placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list in December, officially ending his 2016 season.

Harvin, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2009. He spent four years in Minnesota before he was traded to the Seahawks. After an injury filled 2013 season, the Seahawks once again traded him, this time to the Jets.

Harvin signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Bills back in March of 2015 after the Jets cut him loose, but his agreement officially voided last year making him an unrestricted free agent.

For his career, Harvin rushed for 927 yards on 146 carries (6.3 YPC) to go along with 353 receptions for 4,206 yards receiving and 27 total touchdowns. He also contributed 4,127 kick return yards and five touchdowns on defense.
