Pete Carroll Confirms Seahawks S Kam Chancellor Out For Season

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll confirmed during an interview with 710 ESPN on Monday that S Kam Chancellor is, in fact, out for the season with a neck injury, per Bob Condotta.

As for Chancellor’s future, Carroll said: “Beyond that, it’s up to him.

Chancellor had gotten multiple opinions regarding his neck injury, but multiple reports from last week said that he was likely done for the season, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Seattle has now lost two key contributors on defense in Chancellor and CB Richard Sherman.

Chancellor, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2010. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $43.13 million contract that included $25 million and set to make base salaries of $3 million and $6.8 million over the first two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Chancellor appeared in nine games and recorded 49 tackles, one forced fumble, a safety and two pass defenses for the Seahawks.
