Peyton Manning Hoping To Return This Season

Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning said that he’s still hopeful that he’ll be able to return this season but admitted that he’s not going to “fight” the teams decision to place him on injured reserve if they’re in need of the extra roster spot.

You have to have hope,” Manning said. “Until the doctors rule you out … Bill (Polian) and Chris (Polian) are in charge of the roster. If they come and say they have to make a move, then I can’t fight them on that. I won’t fight them on that. They have to do what’s best for the team.”

Manning’s recovery is said to be going well and doctors will allow him to stand on the sideline this week. Manning more likely to return in either November or December if he plays at all but at this point it would seem worth it as the team is currently 0-4.
