“People I talk to in the league just don’t see it happening,” said La Canfora while making an appearance on NFL Total Access. “It just doesn’t add up to where (Manning) wants to be.”
The rumor spawned as a speculative idea following some comments from Jets player who referred to the deal as a “no brainer” for the Jets. Reports followed suggesting that it’s a plausible idea.
La Canfora adds that NFL GMs listed the Seahawks, Cardinals, and 49ers as “possible destinations” if Manning’s not with the Colts next season.
The Colts are facing a tough decision as Manning has a $28 million bonus due at the start of the next league year. Taking Andrew Luck is a foregone conclusion at this point but Indianapolis will likely be forced to make a decision before Manning is healthy enough to play.
