Patriots QB Tom Brady somewhat surprisingly decided to no longer fight the four-game suspension handed down by the NFL for his role in DeflateGate on Friday.
This, of course, means that the Patriots will be forced to turn their offense over to former second-round pick Jimmy Garoppolo for the first four games of the 2016 season.
It’s been nearly eight years since the Patriots started anyone other than Brady for a regular season game. Although, this could prove to be a positive for New England in the end, as it will allow them to gauge Garoppolo’s ability and potentially showcase him for a trade.
The Patriots’ opponents for the first four games the regular season are:
- Week 1: Cardinals
- Week 2: Dolphins
- Week 3: Texans
- Week 4: Bills
