POLL: Was Trading Away LB Jamie Collins The Right Move For The Patriots?

The Patriots and Browns just agreed to a stunning trade (NFLTR) that will send Pro Bowl LB Jamie Collins to Cleveland in return for a third-round compensatory pick.

This is a surprising trade for a number of reasons. The Browns were widely expected to be sellers at the deadline, not buyers. Beyond that, the Patriots are one of the top contenders in the league and Collins is one of the most talented linebackers in the league.

However, the Patriots have been preparing for losing one of their linebackers in free agency, so it appears as though they felt it was wise to get something for him now and start preparing their other players to handle larger roles this season.

The Browns will likely try to work out a long-term deal with Collins in the coming months or use their franchise tag on him.

All things considered, was the right move for the Patriots to make at this point?
