Potential Landing Spots For WR Greg Jennings

Packers WR Greg Jennings joined the NFL Network on Wednesday and mentioned that he’s open to anything this offseason.

All other 31 teams are an option,” Jennings said, via NFL.com

He’s already put his house in Wisconsin on the market so he’s more than prepared to be playing elsewhere next season. The Miami Dolphins have been consistently mentioned as a potential landing spot given their need for a receiver and the fact that he spent time with their current head coach Joe Philbin while he was in Green Bay.

“I wouldn’t mind that at all,” Jennings said of playing for the Dolphins next season. “The weather’s definitely nice. They have an up and coming quarterback.”

Ian Rapoport added that the Vikings, Rams and Colts could also have interest in Jennings during free agency.

This is the first time we’ve heard the either the Rams or the Colts as speculative options.

St Louis figures to have limited cap space to work, but could really use a true No. 1 receiver. Danny Amendola figures to be at the top of their offseason to-do list, and most likely could be retained for much less than Jennings. If they’re considering adding more talent at wide receiver then it probably makes more sense to target someone in the draft given that there are more cost efficient options there.

Indianapolis re-signed Reggie Wayne last year and he rewarded them with a very productive 2012 season. They also drafted T.Y. Hilton who was a pleasant surprise and provided them with a much needed deep threat. The Colts will have cap space to work with and it probably couldn’t hurt to keep surrounding Andrew Luck with decent receivers, so we’ll have to see if there’s any real interest.

Minnesota is very interesting to me. They’ll have cap space to pursue Jennings and the current issues with Percy Harvin could force them to look for a replacement during offseason. Jennings is one of the best route-runners in the league and would give Minnesota a solid possession receiver to help Christian Ponder next season. Plus, he knows the Packers as well as anyone and the Vikings have been known to target players from NFC North teams in the past.

We have Jennings listed as the No. 10 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
