Purdue DT Ra’Zahn Howard Expected To Be Taken In Rounds 5-7 Of Supplemental Draft

According to Jason Cole of B/R, the expectation right now is that there is only one eligible player in the 2016 Supplemental Draft worth being selected.

Cole says that player is Purdue DT Ra’Zahn Howard, who could end up being an immediate rotational player for some team.

Two GMs tells Cole that if Howard ends up being selected next week, he’ll likely come off the board somewhere between round 5-7.

Overall, Cole says that this isn’t going to be a highly sought after group of players.

The other eligible players in this year’s Supplement Draft include: Ole Miss CB Tee Shepard, Virginia Tech LS Eddie D’Antuono, Sam Houston State RB Jalen Overstreet, University of Calgary WR Rashaun Simonise and Concordia DE Cameron Walton.

Howard played three seasons at Purdue, but is entering the 2016 supplemental draft, due to academic reasons, according to Adam Schefter. He has a Pro Day scheduled in New Jersey on July 8.

Reports from a a month ago mentioned that Howard was planning to transfer from Purdue, but it appears as though he plans to focus on a pro career via the supplemental draft.

Last year, the Rams elected to use a fifth-round pick on OT Isaiah Battle, which was the first time a player had been taken since the Browns drafted WR Josh Gordon back in 2012.

During his college career, Howard recorded 47 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss including three sacks, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.
