Raiders Activate DT Justin Ellis From IR, Waive OL Denver Kirkland

The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that they’ve activated DT Justin Ellis from injured reserve and waived OL Denver Kirkland

The Raiders designated Ellis to return from injured reserve a few weeks ago and Jon Gruden made it clear that they were likely to activate him this weekend, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Ellis, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He played out the final year of his rookie contract and was set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career before agreeing to a three-year extension worth over $15 million this offseason.

In 2018, Ellis has appeared in one game, but has yet to record a statistic.
