Raiders Activate S Nate Allen From I.R. & Waive WR Marcus Thigpen

The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that they’ve activated S Nate Allen from short-term injured reserve list and waived WR Marcus Thigpen.

  • The Raiders also re-signed S Tevin McDonald to their practice squad.

Allen, 27, signed a four-year, $23 million contract that included $11.8 million guaranteed with the Raiders back in March. He stands to make base salaries of $2.9 million (2015), $4.9 million (2016), $5.85 million (2017), and $4.85 million (2018) over the remainder of the agreement.

Allen suffered an MCL injury back in September, but he luckily didn’t have any damage to his ACL.

Thigpen, 29, originally signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana back in 2009. Since then, Thigpen has played for a number of teams including the Broncos, Dolphins, Patriots, Buccaneers, Bills and Colts.

The Raiders signed Thigpen to a contract a few weeks ago.

This season, Thigpen has appeared in four games and totaled 29 kick return yards and 47 punt return yards for the Bills.
