Raiders Claim DE Lavar Edwards Off Waivers From Cowboys

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Raiders have claimed DE Lavar Edwards off of waivers from the Cowboys on Monday.

Edwards, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2013. Tennessee later traded him to the Cowboys for a conditional seventh round pick.

Edwardswound up making the 53-man roster last year, but was later placed on waivers in October before ending up on their practice squad.

Dallas later elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract in January. However, he was waived yesterday after they traded for RB Christine Michael. 

In 2014, Edwards appeared in just four games and recorded only a single tackle.
