Raiders Close To Re-Signing WR Andre Holmes

Update:

Peter Schrager confirms that the Raiders are “close” to re-signing WR Andre Holmes.

  • According to Schrager, Holmes has generated interest from a few teams, but nothing with the Raiders is official right now.

Bill Williamson of Fanragsports.com is reporting that the Raiders are close to re-signing WR Andre Holmes.

  • Williams adds that a deal is not done right now and things could still change.
  • However, it appears as though Holmes is close to being back with the Raiders in 2016.

Last we heard, Chris Tomasson reported that there were five teams in the running for Holmes including the Vikings, Raiders, Lions, Bengals and Eagles.

Holmes, 27, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Hillsdale back in 2011. He later caught on with the Cowboys and Patriots before the Raiders eventually signed him May of 2013.

Holmes returned to the Raiders on a one-year, restricted deal last year.

In 2015, Holmes appeared in all 16 games and caught 14 passes for 201 yards receiving and four touchdowns for the Raiders. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.
