Raiders Could Part Ways HC Dennis Allen By Week 5 If Team Doesn’t Improve?

According to Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area, Raiders HC Dennis Allen is “certainly on the hot seat” as his team continues to struggle and show signs of overall improvement.

Bair writes that there is a chance that team owner Mark Davis could fire him during the season and possibly by the time their Week 5 bye rolls around.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen mentioned on NFL Insiders Monday that there has been talk around the league that Allen’s job could be in danger.

“I know a lot of people around the league are talking about it,” said Mortensen, via Rotoworld.com.

Oakland could always go with offensive line coach Tony Sparano as an interim head coach if they wanted a change in leadership give that he coached the Dolphins for a few of years.

The Raiders next two games are on the road against the Patriots and a home matchup against the Dolphins. Should the team continue to struggle as much as they did against the Texans on Sunday, you would have to think the front office would consider a coaching change while they have extended time off.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about the situation in the coming weeks, especially if they drop Week 3’s game against New England.
