Raiders Cut DE Shelby Harris & S Tevin McDonald, Sign Five

The Oakland Raiders announced that they’ve placed three players on waivers Monday including DE Shelby Harris, S Tevin McDonald and CB Tony McRae.

  • The Raiders also signed five players to contracts including: DB Chris Edwards, WR Joe Hansley, DL Branden Jackson, OL Torian White and RB Jalen Richard.

Harris, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He’s been on an off of their practice squad over the past two years, but returned to the Raiders on a one-year, exclusive rights deal in April.

In 2015, Harris appeared in seven games and recorded 12 tackles and a sack for the Raiders.

McDonald, 23, signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington shortly after last year’s draft. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was quickly signed to the team’s practice squad.

McDonald was on an off of their active roster for the 2015 season before signing a one-year, exclusive rights contract with Oakland.

In 2015, McDonald has appeared in four games, but has yet to record a single statistic.
