Raiders Cut Three Including RB Elijah Hood, Sign Three

The Oakland Raiders officially waived three players on Monday including RB Elijah Hood, DE Joby Saints Fleur, RB Nick Sharga and signed TE Paul Butler, RB Henry Poggi, and RB Chris Warren to contracts.

Hood, 22, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s NFL draft by the Raiders. Unfortunately, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was later signed to the practice squad a few days later.

The Raiders promoted Hood to their active roster while RB Marshawn Lynch served his one-game suspension for making contact with an official. However, Hood was waived and later re-signed to the team’s practice squad.

During his college career at UNC, Hood rushed for 2,580 yards on 430 carries (6 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 211 yards receiving and 29 total touchdowns over the course of 33 games.
