Raiders Rule Out Terrelle Pryor, Will Start Matt McGloin This Weekend

Update:

The Oakland Raiders have officially ruled out QB Terrelle Pryor for Sunday’s game against the Texans and will give undrafted rookie Matt McGloin his first NFL start.

McGloin has seen some regular season action this year after he revealed Pryor during a lopsided loss to the Eagles. McGloin completed seven of his 15 passing attempts for 87 yards during that game.

According to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune, it “looks like” the Raiders could be forced to start Matt McGloin at quarterback against the Texans on Sunday.

Oakland may end up activating Tyler Wilson from the practice squad in order to provide to provide some depth at quarterback in case Pryor’s sprained MCL doesn’t improve in the coming days.

This of course would be McGloin’s first career start, which comes on the road against an underwhelming Texans team. We’ll have more regarding Pryor and the Raider’s quarterback situation leading up Sunday’s game.
