Raiders Will Start QB Terrelle Pryor In Final Preseason Game

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders will give Terrelle Pryor the start in their final preseason game.

• Schefter adds that the “job is his to put away.”

This is obviously bad news for Matt Flynn who signed a  two-year contract worth $11.5 million which includes $6.5 million guaranteed. If he’s unable to beat out Pryor for the job, you have to wonder whether he is even worth keeping around at all.

Pryor still needs a solid showing next week to solidify the job, but it appears as though he’ll be under center come Week 1.

Scott Bair of Comcast Sports reports that QB Terrelle Pryor took the first team snap during Sunday’s practice before it was closed off to the media.

Head coach Dennis Allen mentioned that Pryor offered the team a spark during Saturday’s preseason game. Matt Flynn put together a disappointing performance overall while Pryor was able make some plays. 

Flynn’s poor field vision and pocket awareness has been exposed, while also being limited in terms of his mobility. Despite Pryor’s decent showing, his lack of accuracy and poor mechanics are still a concern for the team.

Flynn appears to be in danger of losing his starting job for the second straight season, which makes you wonder how long Oakland will keep him around.
