Charles Robinson reports that the Raiders are targeting Bengals free agent TE Jermaine Gresham. now that tights ends like Julius Thomas are reportedly nearing deals with other teams.

Robinson adds that the Browns are also taking a look at Gresham as well, which is interesting given that their young tight end Jordan Cameron is also a free agent.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, the Raiders have interest in Bengals free agent TE Jermaine Gresham

Interestingly enough, Caplan mentions that Oakland isn’t showing as much interest in Broncos free agent TE Julius Thomas as many thought they would.

It would definitely be a surprise to see a cap-rich team like the Raiders elect to pursue Gresham over Thomas. However, this doesn’t mean that they won’t be players for Thomas.

Gresham, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2010, but he never managed to live up to his draft status during his time with the team.

In 2014, Gresham caught 62 passes for 460 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

We have Gresham listed as the No. 58 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.

  1. I like him a lot because he’s a better blocker than both Thomas and Rivera but still has good hands and athleticism
