According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders are bringing free agent LB Brian Cushing for a visit on Sunday.

This comes just hours after the Raiders reached an agreement with veteran LB Derrick Johnson, so they’re clearly looking to bolster their inside linebacker depth before the start of training camp.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Cushing to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Cushing, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Texans back in 2009. He was entering in the fifth year of his six-year, $55.643 million contract that includes $21 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $7.25 million for the 2018 season when the Texans released him in a move that created $7,640,625 of available cap space.

Cushing received a 10 game suspension last year for violating the league’s PED policy that cost him over $4 million.

In 2017, Cushing appeared in five games and recorded 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
