Raiders Hosting WR Michael Crabtree For A Visit Next Week

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that free agent WR Michael Crabtree will be visiting with the Raiders next week.

Last we heard regarding Crabtree, Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report mentioned that he had spoken to sources around the league who believe Crabtree’s market crashed after playing “poker” with teams this offseason.

Cole mentioned that Crabtree was expecting to secure a contract that would pay him close to $9 or $10 million per year.

Assuming that his asking price is still that high, the Raiders could be his best opportunity to secure a respectable salary.

Crabtree has only taken one visit since free agency got underway a few weeks ago and that was to the Dolphins while other reports have said that the 49ers could still be an option.

However, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area recently reported that Crabtree is willing to wait as long it takes to find the right situation for him.

Crabtree, 27, appeared in all 16 games and caught 68 passes for 698 yards receiving and four touchdowns last year. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 95 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.

We have Crabtree listed as the No. 34 player in our Top 1oo Free Agents list.
