Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie said that he would like to bring back veteran DB Charles Woodson next year.
“He’s fine physically,” McKenzie said while appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, via FOXSports.com. “It’s going to be totally up to Charles and the new coaching staff.
“I already talked to those guys about him. I would like to get him back here if he wants to play. If he’s all-in 100 percent, I want him back.”
Woodson has said previously that he would definitely like to play another season.
“No question,” Woodson said back in November, via ESPN.com. “I feel great. Why that is, I have no clue. I’ll play this season out and we’ll see what happens after that.”
Woodson, 38, signed a one year contract worth $2.5 million with the Raiders last March and went on to have a pretty productive season.
In 2014, Woodson recorded 111 tackles, one sack, four interceptions, a fumble recovery and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 68 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
