Raiders LT Donald Penn Unhappy With Contract, Not Reporting To Training Camp

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Raiders LT Donald Penn is not reporting for the start of training camp this week because he’s unhappy with his contract.

Penn, 34, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State back in 2006. After a few months in Minnesota, Penn signed on with the Buccaneers during his rookie season and spent eight years in Tampa Bay before he was released back in 2014.

The Raiders signed to a contract soon after and brought him back on a two-year, $11.9 million contract that included $5 million guaranteed last year. Penn stands to make a base salary of $5.8 million for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Penn appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 12 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
