Raiders Making A “Strong Push” To Sign C Rodney Hudson, Chiefs Still In The Mix

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Raiders are continuing to make a “strong push” to sign free agent C Rodney Hudson.

  • Garafolo adds that the Chiefs are not out of the running to Hudson as of now.

Many expected the Raiders to be actively involved with some of the big-name free agents, but they missed out on Randall Cobb, and reportedly haven’t shown much interest in TE Julius Thomas.

However, signing Hudson would be a huge move for the Raiders, as he’s widely considered to be the best available center.

Last we heard regarding Hudson, Jason La Canfora reported that the Chiefs were making a “strong push” to to keep him.

However, La Canfora wasn’t sure if they’ll be able to pull it off given that there are a number of teams interested in pursuing Hudson.

Kansas Cit isn’t in the greatest financial position right now, even though they have made some roster moves in recent days and could always release WR Dwayne Bowe for more cap savings.

Hudson, 25, finished out his four-year, $3,506,100 rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this March.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 center in the league out of 41 qualifying players with solid rating across the board. We have Hudson listed as the No. 18 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
