Raiders Not Giving Up On RB Darren McFadden

Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie told reporters on Thursday that he and the team remain committed to RB Darren McFadden next season, per Jerry McDonald.

“He’s not a lateral mover,” added McKenzie.

Head coach Dennis Allen came under a lot of criticism for their unproductive rushing attack this season, which almost certainly had something to do with the zone-blocking scheme that they were running.

McFadden, 25, is under contract next season for $5.856 million, but the Raiders appear to be of the belief that he is still a part of their long-term future. Oakland doesn’t exactly have any better options on their roster and their offensive line was pretty bad to begin with, so it makes sense that they would commit to at least one more season of McFadden.
