Raiders OC Todd Downing Coaching For His Job, Mike McCoy Potential Replacement?

According to Jason La Canfora, Raiders offensive coordinator Todd Downing is under increasing pressure and will be coaching for his job over the remainder of the season.

La Canfora mentions that Downing is unlikely to be back with the Raiders in 2018 and it’s possible he could be fired during the season, much like DC Ken Norton was last week.

Sources have told La Canfora that Raiders players have are “growing frustrated” with Downing, who reportedly has not endeared himself to many in the building.

Expectations were high for the Raiders’ offense entering 2017, but QB Derek Carr and WR Amari Cooper haven’t played as well this season.

As for HC Jack Del Rio, La Canfora says that it’s “very unlikely” the Raiders would move on from him after this season, especially when you consider that they signed Del Rio to a lucrative contract.

Interestingly enough, La Canfora tosses out for Broncos OC Mike McCoy as a name to keep an eye on for the Raiders.
