Raiders Place DE DE Jacquies Smith On IR, Sign OT Chaz Green

The Oakland Raiders announced Tuesday that they’ve placed DE Jacquies Smith on injured reserve and signed OT Chaz Green.

  • The Raiders also signed TE Darren Waller off of the Ravens practice squad.

Smith, 28, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2012. He had brief stints with the Jets and Bills before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later claimed by the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay brought Smith back on a one-year exclusive rights contract last year and he returned to the Bucs on a one-year, original-round tender worth $1.797 million for the 2017 season.

After brief stints with the Lions and Colts, the Raiders signed Smith to a contract a few weeks ago.

In 2018, Smith appeared in six games and recorded three tackles.

Green, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.951 million contract when the Cowboys waived him coming out of the preseason.

Green later had a brief stint with the Saints.

In 2018, Green appeared in 14 games for the Cowboys and played 256 total snaps.
