Raiders Promote C James Stone, Waive LB Xavier Woodson-Luster

The Oakland Raiders announced Wednesday that they’ve promoted C James Stone to their active roster and waived LB Xavier Woodson-Luster.

Stone, 25, signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in May of 2014. He wound up appearing in 12 games during his rookie season before later suffering a torn ACL last year that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Stone was entering the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract when the Falcons cut him last summer. The Buccaneers signed Stone to a future/reserve contract this past January but he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad.

In 2015, Stone appeared in seven games for the Falcons.
