Raiders Re-Sign K Kevin Goessling, Waived/Injured S Jeremy Deering

The Oaklan Raiders announced that they have re-signed K Kevin Goessling and waived/injured S Jeremy Deering on Wednesday.

The Raiders waived Goessling on Sunday, so it’s somewhat surprising to see him signed just a few days later.

He is a three-time All-Western Athletic Conference selection while at Fresno State. Goessling scored 373 points and converted 61-of-81 field goal attempts during his collegiate career.

Deering, 23, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers, but lasted less than a week with the team before he was placed on waivers. He later signed on with the Raiders in July.

Deering began his career as a receiver, but later converted to defensive back during his senior season. In 2013, he recorded 39 tackles, an interception and a pass defensed.
