Raiders Release LB Curtis Lofton

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Raiders have released LB Curtis Lofton on Friday.

Lofton, 29, signed a three-year, $18 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed with the Raiders last year. He was set to make a base salary of $5.35 million for the 2016 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing will free up $2 million in available cap space while creating $3.5 million in dead money.

In 2015, Lofton appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 64 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery.
