Raiders Release WR Griff Whalen From IR With Settlement

The Oakland Raiders officially released WR Griff Whalen from injured reserve with a settlement on Tuesday.

Whalen, 28, signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2012. He spent f0ur years in Indianapolis before he was placed on injured reserve and later waived from the list back in January of last year.

The Dolphins later signed him to a contract only to cut him loose at the start of last season. Whalen had brief stints with the Chargers and Patriots before signing on with the Ravens this last July.

Whalen signed a one-year contract with the Raiders back in March and just recently placed him on injured reserve.

In 2017, Whalen appeared in two games and caught four passes for 23 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Ravens.
