Raiders Releasing TE Clive Walford

Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders are releasing tight end Clive Walford on Tuesday.

According to Schefter, Walford is expected to find a new home quickly.

It’s possible that Walford will be claimed off of waivers on Wednesday, given that he’s still playing out his rookie contract and wouldn’t cost a team very much for the 2018 season.

Walford, 26, is a former third-round pick out of Miami by the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is in the final year of his four-year, $3.345 million rookie contract and set to earn a base salary of $822,800 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Walford appeared in 13 games for the Raiders and recorded nine receptions for 80 yards receiving and no touchdown.
