Raiders Sign CB Chimdi Chekwa To A One-Year Deal

The Oakland Raiders signed CB Chimdi Chekwa to a one-year contract on Tuesday, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Chekwa, 26, was taken in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He was waived at the start of the 2012 season and later signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Patriots signed Chekwa to a one-year contract back in March, but he was released on Monday.

Last year, appeared in 10 games for the Raiders last year and recorded 16 tackles and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing just 89 total snaps in 2014.
