Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Raiders have signed former Lions and Packers K Giorgio Tavecchio to a contract.
Tavecchio, 24, orginally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2012. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster and was released at the start of the season.
He would later have brief stints with the Packers and Lions before being claimed off of waivers by the Raiders in August of last year. However, Tavecchio lasted just a few days with Oakland.
Tavecchio has yet to appear in an NFL game, so it seems very likely that he’ll have to compete for a roster spot this summer.
