Raiders Sign WR Jordy Nelson To Two-Year, $15M Deal With $13M Gtd

Former Packers WR James Jones has announced that Jordy Nelson is signing a two-year, $15 million contract with the Raiders that includes $13 million guaranteed.

There were reports that the Raiders had serious competition from the Saints, who were making a “hard push” to Nelson along with the Seahawks. However, this appeared to be a Nelson trying to gain some leverage in his talks with the Raiders.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Nelson, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $43 million contract and set to make a base salary of $9.25 million for the 2018 season when the Packers released him in a move that freed up $10,218,750 of available cap space.

In 2017, Nelson appeared in 15 games for the Packers and caught 53 passes for 482 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
